Milton Leon Snyder, 90, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Holton Community Hospital. He was born February 21, 1932 in Circleville, KS, the son of Walter Parrin and Grace L. (Clemetson) Snyder.

Milton graduated from Circleville High School in 1950. He earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Washburn University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, earning rank of Master Sergeant. He also was Lieutenant for the Kansas Department of Corrections for over 20 years.

Milton was a member of the Circleville Methodist Church and American Legion Post 44. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

He married Ruth Place in April 1953; they divorced. He married Mary Jo Keeler in September 1980; she preceded him in death on March 12, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace Snyder and 3 sisters, Zada Smith, Cleo Alfrey and Joyce Boyle.

Survivors include his companion, Dixie Mannell of the home; 2 daughters, Wanda White (Stan) of Mayetta, KS and Karen Snyder of Holton, KS; 3 step-children, Debra Cain of Rossville, KS, Rexford Wyre (Rebekah) of Carbondale, KS and Susan Crouse of Tecumseh, KS; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Circleville Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Circleville Methodist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
