Janet Lee Negonsott “Ni-bow-sah-Quah” 70, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on August 6, 2022 at the United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She was born on March 5, 1952 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Milton and Evelyn Wahwassuck Negonsott. Janet worked at THEM, the manor in Hiawatha as a CNA most recently she was a para at the Kickapoo Nation School for over 40 years. Janet was a proud member of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas. She was a member of the Drum Religion.

Survivors include three daughters, Heather (Craig) Wahwahsuck, Brandi (Ken) Davis and Rachelle Blacksmith all of Horton, Kansas; son, Christopher “Sonny” Fee of Horton, Kansas; significant other, Phillip Zephier of Horton, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Emery, John and William “Bill” Negonsott, 4 sisters, Mary Ann Blacksmith, Mabel “Osh” Dupuis, Norene Negonsott, Patricia Negonsott and nephew, Greg Negonsott and great nephew, William Blacksmith.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Kickapoo Community Building. Burial will be on Wednesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the Negonsott Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
