Violet Mae Garnett 89, of Horton, KS passed away August 18, 2022, at Amberwell in Hiawatha, KS.

Violet was born May 15, 1933, in Highland, KS.  She was one of four children born to John Earl & Olive Pearl (Brenner) Barnthson.  Violet married Leroy Frakes and from this union 3 children were born. They were later divorced.  Violet then later married Fred L. Garnett who preceded her in death on February 2, 1999.  Most of Violet’s life she was a homemaker, but she did work for awhile at both the Horton Hospital and the Town Café.  Violet loved spending time with her family, feeding & watching birds, & planting flowers.  She also liked rearranging furniture to give rooms a different look.  Fred would tease her that he would come home one day & go to bed in a dresser drawer.  Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Garnett, her infant son, John Frakes, her daughter, Linda Phillips & her grandson, Cody Chama. 

She is survived by her son, Roy "Rusty" (Jeanne) Frakes, her granddaughter, Amanda Cheek (Anthony Murdock), her grandson, Russell Frakes (Brijida Hughes), her step-grandson Branden (Leala) Thomas, great grandchildren, Brent Middleton, Zaevian Murdock, Azaylia Murdock, Terry Snyder, Harley Snyder, Robert Snyder, Jalyn Wright, Lennon Smith, Micaiah Thomas, Chenoa Thomas, Torben Thomas & Sloan Thomas, as well as, many nieces & nephews.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Horton City Cemetery.
