Leo Grollmes

 Leo Joseph Grollmes, 87, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at FW Huston Senior Living Center in Winchester, KS. He was born April 8, 1935 in Seneca, KS, the son of Paul Frederick and Helen B. (Gudenkauf) Grollmes.

Leo graduated from Valley Falls High School. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve.

 He worked for Meier’s Ready Mix in Ozawkie, KS and Baker Quarry in Valley Falls, KS. He was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #6671 both in Valley Falls.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen Grollmes; his brother, Francis Grollmes; his 4 sisters, Mary Wessel, Alice Frakes, Helen Marie Grollmes and infant, Sara Grollmes.

Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 with visitation until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Leo will lie in state Tuesday afternoon until 5:00 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
