Charles “Chuck” Clowe

Charles Francis “Chuck” Clowe, 90, of Topeka, KS, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at his home with family by his side. He was born October 31, 1931 in Circleville, KS, the son of Jesse C. and Myrtle (Abel) Clowe.

 Chuck graduated from Wetmore High School in 1949 and attended Kansas State University for 2 years. He had lived in the Topeka community for over 62 years, Omaha, NE for 3 years, Salem, IL for 10 years and 1 year in McPherson, KS.

 He worked in pipeline maintenance operations in the oil, gas and fertilizer business.

 Chuck was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka, Masonic Lodge and Sunrise Optimist Club. He also delivered Meals On Wheels with his wife for many years.

He married Shirley Ann Shupe on September 12, 1954 in Holton, KS; they celebrated over 68 years of marriage.

 Survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home; son, Craig A. Clowe (Penny) of Kingwood, TX; daughter, Denise D. Scott of Topeka, KS; 4 grandchildren, Brian Clowe (Krissy), Matthew Clowe (Christine), Ryan Scott and Kyle Scott (Whitney); 3 great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Myrtle Clowe; brother, Edward Clowe and grandson, Jason Scott.

 Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home, 1101 W. 4th St., Holton, KS. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Chuck will lie in state Saturday from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m.and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
