Pamela "Pam" Sue Windle, 63, of Humboldt, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family and friends after a well-fought battle with cancer.

She was born on November 10, 1958, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Charles E. Windle and Norma J. (Spurgin) Windle. Pam grew up in the Dawson and Salem area, attending school in both. She received her GED in 1984 and later received degrees and certificates in hair design, accounting, and medical coding. She worked in a variety of jobs including owning her own beauty shop and most recently housekeeping at Colonial Acres of Humboldt, NE.

Pam raised three wonderful boys: Jeremy Josef William (1977), Timothy Shane (1979), and Richard Shawn (1983). She also helped raise several of her nieces and nephews and functioned as a mom and source of support to many children in her community.

Pam’s hobbies included fishing, playing darts, crocheting, and sewing. She loved her coffee, puzzles and playing games. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She worked hard and played even harder. She instilled in her sons the value of strength, courage, and use of duct tape, super glue, and J-B Weld.

Pam was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter Libby Sue Richey, her grandparents, father Charles (Gene) Windle, her pops James Alford, an infant brother Steven Windle, infant nephew Steven Martin, nephew Aaron Kildow, and infant great niece Brynn Martin.

Pam is survived by her sons Jeremy (Jamie) Richey of Lincoln, NE, Timothy (Elecia) Richey of Humboldt, NE, and Shawn Wittrock of Humboldt, NE, grandchildren Jessica Richey, Nathan Richey, Isaac Thompson, Summer Richey all of Lincoln, NE, Mya Richey, Jakob Richey, and Shawnna Richey all of Humboldt, NE, great grandchildren David Leafty III of Lincoln, NE and Noah Richey of Humboldt, NE, mother Norma (Spurgin) Alford of Fayetteville, AR, sisters Charlotte (Kenny) Bower of Effingham, IL, Kathy (Rex) Usher of Wilson, KS and Laura (Bobby) Kildow of Fayetteville, AR, brother Pat Windle of Monroe, OR, and several nieces and nephews.

We love you to the moon and back!

A celebration of Pam’s life will be on Saturday, October 8, 2022, starting at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 948 Central Ave., Humboldt, NE 68366.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humboldt Garden Club for the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Memorial Garden or given to the family to assist in funeral costs.
