Betty Ann Stauffer

Betty Ann (Stastny) Stauffer, 88, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on June 6, 1934, in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Steven E. and Matilda I. (Horalek) Stastny.  She was raised with her three sisters in Pawnee County and attended country school.  Betty Graduated from Pawnee City High School with the class of 1952.  On          , Betty was united in marriage to Henry E. Stauffer at       .  To this union three children, Jack, Larry and Janice were born.  The couple raised their family on a farm south of Humboldt where Betty was a homemaker and helped with the day-to-day operation of the farm.  After Henry passed away suddenly in 1971, Betty worked as a cook for Bern public schools in Bern, Kansas until retirement.

Betty passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-eight years, four months and eighteen days.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry Stauffer, son Jack Stauffer, great-granddaughter Collins Schaardt, nephew LaWayne Mach and special friend Glen Boehm.

Left to continue her beautiful memory are her children: Larry Stauffer and wife Kathy of Humboldt, NE; Janice Plummer and husband Scott of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren: Monica (Pete) Hobson of Yorktown Heights, NY; Melanie (Bruce) McDowell of McKinney, TX; Jessica (Wes) Schaardt of Lincoln, NE; Julie (Matt) Mezger of Lincoln, NE; Sarah Plummer of Las Vegas, NV; Adam Plummer of Las Vegas, NV; Rachel (Cody) Bannon of Washington D.C.; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Alma Mach of Humboldt, NE; Elsie Tomek of Pawnee City, NE; Edna (Roy) Wittwer of Sabetha, KS; and many other family and friends.

  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the Four-Mile Congregational Church in rural Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha.  

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska.  Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will immediately follow services at the Humboldt Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may go to the Colonial Acres Nursing Home and the Humboldt Rescue Squad.

Inurnment will be in the Mound (Prospect) Cemetery, east of Humboldt, Nebraska.
