Ernest Lionel Zeltwanger, 97, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Carriage Square Nursing Home. 

Ernest was born on January 30, 1925, in Troy, Kansas to Albert and Ruby (Lloyd) Zeltwanger. 

He was owner and operator, building retaining walls. 

Ernest married Edith Briggs on April 8, 1944, in Troy, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his son, Larry Zeltwanger, parents, brothers, Edwin and Arthur Zeltwanger, sisters, Helen Henry, Norma Briggs and Elaine Walter. 

Survivors, daughter, Sharon Johnson (Phillip), 

3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Sisters, Luella Briggs, Shirley Hagen and Darlene Gawatz. 

Brother, William Zeltwanger.  

Numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2022 

At the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas. 

Visitation: 1 hour prior to service at 10:00 A.M. Friends may call after 12 noon Friday. 

Burial: Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas.
