Jack N. McManigal

Jack N. McManigal, 93, of Holton, KS, “cashed in his chips” on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at The Pines in Holton. He was born February 15, 1929 in Horton, KS, the son of John Wesley and Clare Evelyn (Noe) McManigal.

Jack graduated from Horton High School in 1947. He attended 3 semesters of college and numerous classes while serving in the military. He proudly served in the Kansas National Guard for 16 years - Battery C 154th Field Artillery, Battery B 130th Field Artillery and Battalion Headquarters 130th Field Artillery; earning rank as Captain.

Jack worked as a photographer, artilleryman, salesman, livestock nutritionist, consultant and estate broker.

He married Mary Ann Crow on June 26, 1949 in Horton, KS. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2002, after 53 years of marriage. Jack was also preceded in death by his grandson, PFC. Cody Baker.

Survivors include 4 sons, John McManigal, Phil McManigal (Beth), Mike McManigal (Candy) and Chris McManigal (Carol) all of Holton, KS; daughter, Ann Amon (Gary) of Holton, KS; daughter-in-law, Mona McManigal of Lawrence, KS; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 3 in the oven.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Jack will lie-in-state Saturday, Sunday and Monday until 6 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Jack McManigal Memorial Fund to be designated towards local baseball and softball programs c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
