Lillian Marie (Dierking) Powers, 92, of Holton, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at The Pines South near Holton.

Lillian was born July 4, 1930 at Lyndon, the daughter of August and Emma (Schultz) Dierking. She graduated from Holton High School in 1948 and from Central Business College in Kansas City, Missouri in 1949. She retired from the State of Kansas in 1995.

She was a life-time member of Trinity Lutheran in Holton where she taught Sunday School for many years, was active in the Women- Missionary League, and helped make quilts for World Relief for more than thirty-five years.

She married Merle Holliday on June 21, 1953. They were divorced. She later married Matt Deady, then Wes Powers.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Matt Deady and Wes Powers, a brother, LaVerne “Dirk” Dierking and two sisters, Cora Beaman and Joann Edge.

Survivors include three sons, Steven Holliday (Bertie), Enid, OK, Dennis Holliday (Carla), Holton and Gary Holliday, Topeka; a step-son, Dennis Powers, St. Marys, GA; two step-daughters, Pat (Powers) McGrady, Palo Alto, CA and Jeanne (Deady) Shafer; seven grandchildren, Chad, Brandi, Cheri, Steve, Paige, Sarah and Sam, eight step-grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren, and two nephews, Charles and Wayne Beaman.

A memorial graveside service and inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25th at the Holton Cemetery. Those wanting to process to the cemetery will meet at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home by 10:30 on Saturday.
