James ”Jim” Peevyhouse, 93, formerly of Muscotah and Horton, Ks, went on to his heavenly home Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Apostolic Christian Home, Sabetha Ks.

James proudly and honorably served his country as a PFC radio operator during the Korean War. After his time of service, he worked as a sheet-rocker for over 40 years. He was a man of simplicity. Give him his garden, (most often generously sharing the fruits of his labor) a fishing hole, (quite notably the Delaware River), a captive audience for his jokes and phenomenal storytelling, and any opportunity to help fill a need. More than all these things though, he loved the Lord and his family with all his heart. He and love of his life, Wanda (Hamon), were blessed with 66 years of marriage. Wanda brought to their union Sharon (Walton) Small whom James adored and loved as his own daughter.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda, and his daughter, Sharon. Sharon and her husband Jon blessed them with 5 grandchildren, Niki (Terry) Pederson, Joni (Joe) Hackney, Kristi (Kevin) Dalen, Willie Small (Kristin Beyer) and Josh (Bethany) Small; 19 Great-grandchildren Jonathan (Sarah), Ashley and Nathan Pederson, Tyler and Joel Hackney, Zack, Jenna, Kole (Allyah) and Jarad Dalen, Christian, Daryan (Bradley)Hooper, Nyah and Lani Small, Brantley, Sydney, Evelyn and Penny Small, Jackson and Jillian Frazier; 5 Great-great-grandchildren, Gideon and Micah Pederson, Jonas and Clara Hooper, and Maeva Burton. He also loved and is loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Muscotah Cemetery, Muscotah, Kansas. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
