Lois K. Siard, 80, of Shawnee, Kansas, formerly of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her granddaughter's home in Shawnee, Kansas.

She was born on April 9, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Alvin and Frances Leonard Riggs. Lois retired from Golden Star where she worked as a receptionist for many years. After retirement she worked as a housekeeper and cook for the Horton Hospital, Tri-County Manor and later the Sac-N-Fox Casino. Lois loved being a grandmother and devoted her life to her family. She was Baptist and loved the Lord with all her heart, she made it her mission to ensure her family had a personal relationship with Jesus.

She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Focht (Jason Patterson) of St. Joseph, Missouri; Lois was divorced but to that marriage she leaves behind four step children whom she loved, William "Pete" Siard of Winthrop, Missouri, Dorothy (Mike) Carney of Atchison, Kansas, Betty (Peter) DeRooij of Atchison, Kansas and James (Becky) Siard of Doniphan, Kansas; brother, James (Bev) Riggs of Georgia; sister, Sarah Riggs of Texas; sister-in-law, Penny Riggs of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren, Ashlee Siard of Shawnee, Kansas, Keith Cody Focht of St. Joseph, Missouri, Belinda Edwards of Bottom, Texas, Shelby Patterson and Pippy Patterson; numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Thomas Riggs and Michael Riggs and two step sons, Milton "Charlie" Siard and Thomas Fredrick Siard and a son-in-law, Mike Focht.

There are many accomplishments in a person's life, but the greatest truly is how we love one another. To know Lois was to love her. She sacrificed her life for her family and We honor her for that. Special mentions are her babies she leaves behind while they are counted in the numerous numbers, They were always the reason for her smile. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the services.
