Don Sullivan, 83 years of age, was born November 29, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Glenn & Grace Howland Sullivan. He passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his home in Horton, Kansas.

Don and Patricia (Williams) celebrated 58 years of marriage, March 10th. They were married in Sunland, California in 1965. Don served with the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper - artillery from 1957-1959. During his lifetime, Don worked hard in various Union manufacturing and construction trades, retiring from Midwest Grain in Atchison, Kansas in 1996. Post-retirement, he worked at Golden Eagle and Sac-n-Fox casinos. He enjoyed reading and playing cards, and loved word search puzzles. He would make cookies with his grandchildren and later with his great-grandchildren. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and loved KU basketball. Don was an active participant in Freedom Friday A.A. at the 1st Christian Church in Horton and was very proud when he celebrated 40 years of sobriety in August 2022.

Don and Pat are the proud parents of three children, Donna (Allen) Garmany, Tom (Mary) Sullivan and Chris (Shelly) Sullivan; and children of the heart, Don (Holly) Wilhide and Arnold (Sarah) Tjerina. They have fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Don was the third born of sixteen children. He is also survived by Jeanine (Tom) Bechtold, Glenda (Richard) Butner, Reuben Sullivan, Walter Sullivan, Judy (Gene) Hetz, Gary Sullivan, Mike Sullivan and Nellie Brockhoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings who died in infancy and Mervin Sullivan, Ray Sullivan, Kathy Boaz and Vivian Sullivan and two sister-in-laws, Lavonne Sullivan and Linda Sullivan.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 11:45 am on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Prairie Home Cemetery, 3430 NW Menoken Rd, Topeka, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested and may be made to Freedom Friday A.A. of the 1st Christian Church or NEK Multi County Hospice, Horton, Kansas and can be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
