Linda Dishong

Linda O. Carr Dishong, 75, of Seneca, lost her battle against pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

Linda was born on March 12, 1948, to Harry and Marian F. Adams Carr at the Topeka at Christ Hospital. Linda obtained her GED, an accomplishment that she took great pride in. She hired by Campbell Soup Factory in Pawnee City, Nebraska, where she worked before finding her calling in long term care. Linda got her Certified Medication Aide and her Certified Nursing Aide certification. She worked for Idol Care Home in Nebraska for a short time before being employed by Country View Estates on December 19, 1976 and retired from Life Care of Seneca on October 31, 2022 after 46 years of dedicated work.

She enjoyed reading, poker, bingo and watching game shows. She was an avid Elvis memorabilia collector. Linda was a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed the relationship and being involved in the activities of her grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harry on September 3, 1999 and Marian on December, 16, 2019; as well as, her brother, Harold Carr on November 24, 2017.

Linda is survived by her children, Mark Dishong of Oneida, James Dishong of Beattie, Mary Savage of Soldier and Mandy Dishong of Circleville. She will be missed by her siblings, Harry Carr of Topeka, Richard Carr of Seneca, William Carr of Topeka, Nancy Lang of Topeka, Mary Stong of Largo, Florida, Daisy Hiptig of Flush, Tamie Newcomb of Seneca and Penny Fee of White Cloud, Kansas. Her nine grandchildren will cherish the memories of their loving grandmother, Tylor, Chelsy, Mariah, Melissa, Cheyenne, Dana, Ashley, Kevin and Justin. Linda was blessed with 18 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10A.M- 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, May 3, 3023 at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 A.M., directly after the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will take place at a later date.
