Sarah Sue English, 70, died peacefully Friday March 31, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

Sarah was born Oct. 15, 1952, in Kansas City, KS to Rita H. English and William J. English and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School, 1970. She earned a BS in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. She subsequently obtained an MS degree in Environmental City Planning from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS.

Sarah was a veteran serving her country in the US Coast Guard from March 1975 to December 1979 as a Telephone Technician (E5). She was in the second class of women to be enlisted into the US Coast Guard. She was stationed in New York City, NY, New Orleans, LA, and Little Rock, AR.

Sarah married Brett Bodily on Sept 1, 1988, in Manhattan, KS. During their marriage she worked with her husband as a project manager at their industrial painting company executing large scale projects. Her husband preceded her in death in 2006. Sarah is also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Paula L. Ewing. After her husband- death she worked as a Project Analyst for the State of Texas Facilities Commission, Austin, TX.

Survivors include brothers, John English (Linda English) Shawnee, KS, J. Ted English, Stillwell, KS, sisters Veronica English (Doran Ward), Helena, MT, Cecilia (Chuck) Miller, Purdy, MO, Rita Bassett, Dickson, TN, M. Bernadette (Alan) Anglyn, Edgerton, KS and Jessie M. English, Cambridge, MA, and 29 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Sarah lived in Austin, Texas from 2007-2019 where she worked as a Transformational Life Coach and was an integral member of the Austin metaphysical community. She continued this work when she moved to Taos, NM in 2019. With this community she worked on her life-mission to help people be true to themselves. Sarah was passionate about nature and animals, particularly her well-loved dogs. In her last years she lived in Taos, NM (2019-2022) where she enjoyed and shared photographs of the stunning Taos sunrises and sunsets. Sarah- vivacious wit, charm, and laughter will be especially missed by her family and friends.

Military and committal services for Sarah will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Miller Cemetery, east of Everest.

Military honors a courtesy of the Brown County Veterans Honor Guard. Rev Cassinelli will officiate the committal service.

Everyone is invited to join the family at Lentz Reception, downtown Horton for lunch, fellowship and celebrate Sarah- life.
