On May 13, 2023 Robert “Bob” Glenn Myers, 75, of Muscotah, Kansas, took his last breath on Earth and first breath in Heaven.

Bob was born on November 9, 1947 to Juanita and Delmar Heppard in Atchison, Kansas. After Bob graduated from Atchison High School in 1965, he went on to study business at Highland Community College. In 1968, Bob met Carolyn at Atchison Assembly of God Church. He and Carolyn went on to have one beautiful child, DaNette.

He spent many years farming with his father-in-law, where he learned how to drive a semi and different kinds of machinery. After attending Highland College for a year Bob decided to serve his country in the United States Air Force. While he was serving his country Bob helped defend the United States in the Vietnam War. During the war he was stationed at the Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon, where he was a truck driver. Bob was proud to be a veteran and to serve his country.

After serving in the Air Force, from 1968-1971, Bob went back to school and majored in welding and carpentry. Following school, Bob managed Wheelers’ Farm Store in Atchison and Falls City for five years. Bob spent 40 years of his life truck driving with Johnson Controls and Ruan. He loved driving all over the United States and Canada to see the nature God had created. Bob had a brotherhood of drivers, who called him “Country Boy,” that became part of his family.

After retiring Bob loved spending time with his family, eating breakfast with his friends, being a Range Officer at the Horton Gun Range, and meeting with his fellow retired truck drivers at “Trucker Tuesday.” Bob loved the Lord with all of his heart. He had such a sweet spirit that if you talked with him you knew that he loved Jesus. We rest in knowing that Bob knew where he was going and that we will see him again.

Bob is survived by Carolyn Myers (wife), DaNette Schutter (daughter), John Schutter (son-in-law), Kara Wilson( granddaughter) and Carla Myers (sister). He was proceeded in death by Juanita Heppard (mother), Delmar Heppard (father), Carl Rosenauer (grandfather), Winifred Rosenauer (grandmother), Clare Walton (father-in-law) and Joyce Walton (mother-in-law).

A celebration of life service will be held at Muscotah United Church on Saturday, May 20 at 11am. Please join the family in the fellowship hall for lunch after the service. We will be sharing some of our favorite stories to remember this wonderful person that we already miss.
