Esther Elizabeth (Jensen) Blandin, 88, formerly of Horton, Kansas passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2023 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kansas.

She was born in Heron Lake, Minnesota to Andrew and Alice Gentry Jensen. She attended school in Okabena, MN. and graduated from Windom High School, MN. In 1955 she married Thomas L. Blandin and spent many years as a military wife. Shortly after he retired they relocated to Horton, Kansas. Towards the end of child raising she went back to school at Highland Community College, earned her associates degree and moved on to Washburn University where she received her Bachelor- degree in Education. She was a good old fashioned country girl and was friendly with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by Thomas L. Blandin, her son Darren A. Blandin.

She is survived by her daughter Denise J. Patterson and son Kevin T. Blandin, both of Horton. Her sister Adeline Anderson of Annandale, MN. and brothers Lowell Jensen of Marrifield, MN. and David Jensen of St. Paul, MN. Also 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

A celebration of life service will be on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at 11:00am at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Ks. followed by a lunch/potluck dinner/visitation at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation at 1073 Falcon Rd. Horton, KS. 66439 A service will be held at LaCanne Funeral Home in Windom, Minnesota with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery Friday, May 19, 2023.
