Wayne W. Myers, 80, of rural Denton, Kansas met his Savior Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Medical Lodge in Atchison, Kansas.

Wayne was born January 19, 1943, to William and Harriet (Gish) Myers, in Horton, KS. Wayne faced many heartaches and struggles throughout his life, starting the day after he was born.

Wayne grew up in Denton, working on the farm. Wayne worked various jobs throughout his life mostly farming and heavy equipment operation. In 1979, Wayne married Sheila Davis and they were married within 3 months of meeting. Wayne was a quiet, kind man. He never met an enemy! Later Wayne was blessed with one daughter, Bridget, and later 5 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will all miss him terribly.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila in 2009, (the only time I ever saw him cry), by his parents, William and Harriet, stepmother Naomi, stepmother Betty, brother Gerald and brother-in-law Leonard Thompson.

Wayne was a member of the St. John- Lutheran Church in Bendena, Kansas.

He is survived by his daughter, Bridget, Atchison, KS

Grandchildren Sgt. Malachi Manis of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Caleb Manis of St. Joseph, MO, Sierra Manis (Austin), Dakota and Gracelynn Taylor all of Atchison, KS.

Brother Lewis (Patricia) of Troy, KS and sister Sylvia Thompson of Denton, Kansas

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

FUNERAL: Graveside, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:30 AM

At the Denton Cemetery, Denton, KS

Visitation: the family will receive friends at Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas from 10:00 to 11:00

Memorials: Wayne will surely be missed by all who knew him, but we are comforted by the fact he- finally home. Donations in Wayne- honor could be made to Alzheimer's Association for Parkinson- Research.
