Evelyn M. Spencer, 93, of Circleville, KS passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at The Pines in Holton.

She was born October 3, 1929 in Sabetha, Kansas, the daughter of Charles August and Nora May (Shumaker) Zwahl. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1946. After high school, she completed Clark Business School.

Evelyn worked as a clerk for the Topeka and Shawnee County Health Departments. She also worked as a clerk for the Jackson County ASCS Office in Holton.

Evelyn was a member of Ayli Club and the Circleville United Methodist Church.

Evelyn married Richard Spencer in March 5, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2008. She is also preceded by her son, Kelly Spencer and a brother, Elvin Zwahl.

Survivors include her daughter, Myla K. Cole (Jim) of Circleville, Kansas and a granddaughter, Erin Spencer of Omaha, Nebraska.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Circleville Cemetery in Circleville, Kansas.
