Pastor Ronald Stanley Ahlgren, 76, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his home with family by his side. Ron fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 10, 1947 in Litchfield, MN, the son of Charles Stanley and Lucille (Radunz) Ahlgren.

Ron graduated from Dassel High School in MN in 1964. He graduated from Manhattan Christian College in 1987, Summit Theological Seminary earning his Bachelor- Degree in Sacred Literature in 1989 and he also graduated from Kentucky Christian College in 1989 with his Master- Degree.

He was a minister for Christian churches located in Moose Lake, MN, Baxter, MN, Circleville, KS, Viroqua, WI, Hill City, KS, Worthington, MN and currently in Soldier, KS for over 47 years.

Ron married Barbara Klarstrom on November 4, 1967 in Darwin, MN; they celebrated over 55 years of marriage.

Everyone loved Ron- sense of humor and his love for people. He loved to play the accordion and sing. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, building things in the woodshop, and he loved to preach! He continued preaching even while in the hospital to every nurse, doctor, and caregiver that was a part of his day.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; daughter, Lorilee Thomas (Chris) of Whiting, KS; son, Tim Ahlgren (Tanya) of Circleville, KS; sister, Joanne West (Ron) of Joplin, MO; 4 brothers, Richard Ahlgren (Jeanne), Bob Ahlgren (Connie), Steve Ahlgren (Pam) and Galen Ahlgren (Sue) all of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Mary Ahlgren of MN; 6 grandchildren, Corey Thomas (Allison), Austen Thomas (Kaley), Payton Thomas, Tyler Ahlgren, Kyle Ahlgren and Jackson Ahlgren and 3 great-grandchildren, Adlee, Cohen and Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Lucille Ahlgren and a brother, David Ahlgren.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Soldier Christian Church in Soldier, KS. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Minnesota.
