Donna Jean Kinnear, 93, of Horton, Kansas passed away on Thursday, June 29th at the Hiawatha Hospital.

She was born on December 13, 1929, in Horton KS. She was the daughter of George “Herb” and Muriel (Carter) Hudson.

Donna was a cook for several area country clubs, and a housekeeper for Tri County Manor until her retirement when she stayed home to spend time with her granddaughter. Most days she could be found sitting in her chair by the crib waiting for her granddaughter to wake up.

She loved fresh flowers, cooking, and sitting on the porch enjoying the fresh air.

Donna was always good for a witty comeback and wasn’t afraid to say it how it is. According to Donna there was no excuse for not knowing something because you can just “Ask your phone.”

She was preceded in death by two of her children, Steven Peak and Elizabeth Peak, seven siblings, and her parents.

She is survived by her son Jay (Lori) Kinnear of Horton, granddaughter Ariel (Casey) Bratton of Horton, great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Donna requested no services. A private family burial and gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the South Brown County food pantry and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
