Sherri Lynn Ladner, 64, of Holton, KS, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She was born January 8, 1959 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Allin “Dale” and Leatrice “Joy” (Hale) Taylor.

Sherri graduated from Holton High School in 1977. She worked for Jackson County for over 40 years. She began in 1981 in Emergency Management and retired in 2021 as the Administrative Assistant at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. After retirement, Sherri remained part-time at the sheriff's office. Sherri loved her years at the sheriff's office, and she considered the deputies and employees her 2nd family.

Sherri's greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandkids. You could always find her attending her grandkids various events or tending to her flowers.

Sherri married Robin A. “Rob” Ladner on May 24, 2002 in Holton. They celebrated over 21 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Rob of the home; 1 son, Will McAsey (Mary) of Holton, KS; 5 daughters, Staci Claycamp (Jason) of Wetmore, KS, Kerra Taylor (Kyle) of Hoyt, KS, Jenny Munoz (Dani) of Miami, FL, Jamie Ladner (Evan Gawanda) of Eminence, MO and Jodie Ladner of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren, Rylie, Maddex, Benton, Lliam, Leia, Braxton, Royce, Maci and Easton and one granddaughter on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Joy Taylor; brother, Steven L. Taylor and sister, Terri Jo Taylor Tuthill.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Private Family Inurnment will be at a later date at the Holton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jackson County Sheriff- Equipment Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
