Daniel Lee Kaster
Wherry Mortuary in Pawnee City
rural Dubois, KS

Daniel Lee Kaster was born on December 27, 1983 in Seneca, KS and passed into eternal life on August 19, 2023 at his home near DuBois, NE at 39 years of age. He was the second of three children born to Ronald and Ann Kaster.

Daniel attended Pawnee City Public Schools where he graduated in 2002. He was married to Jennifer Jones from 2004 to 2009, and four children were born to this union. He was later married to Janelle Frey from 2010 to 2016. He was always a hard worker and was employed by Haverkamp Brothers Inc. for many years until his passing.

Daniel was a true outdoorsman, and there are many impressive pictures of fish he had caught and deer he had shot. In addition to his passion for hunting and fishing, he greatly enjoyed camping, boating, riding side by sides, and expertly frying fish & mushrooms. He was infuriatingly good at just about any game he tried to play, but he was particularly skilled at horseshoes, washers and shooting pool.

Daniel was adventurous, fun-loving, good-natured and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was handy and creative, and like many sons, was really good at borrowing his dad's tools (and maybe forgetting to return them). Daniel was a man that showed up. He absolutely adored his children, was devoted to his family, and was an incredible friend.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ann Kaster; grandfathers Mienrad Bergman, David Kaster and Bob Ward; uncle Kevin Kaster; and cousins Jeremy Siess and Skyler Kaster.

Daniel is survived by his children Madison (Haven) Hunt, Shelbi Kaster, Hannah Kaster, and Hunter Kaster; father Ron Kaster; siblings David (Heather) Kaster and Sara (Adam Sumner) Kaster; grandmothers Joan Ward and Ruth Ensley-Kunz; significant other Carrie de Koning and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loved ones.
