Mary E. Recob, 85, of Elwood, Kansas passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Oregon Care Center, Oregon, Missouri.

Mary was born on April 14, 1938, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Louis C. and Margaret V. (Marales) Nichols.

She was of the Christian Faith and a member of the Red Hats.

Mary was a cook for over 30 years for USD #406 in Wathena, after retiring she volunteered for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Mary loved spending time with family, camping at the river, and gardening were her passions.

She loved ice skating for most all her life and loved celebrating Halloween and the fall season.

Mary married Clifford L. Recob on September 21, 1957, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael S. Recob, an infant brother, Daniel and a sister Charlene Wendt.

Anthony L. Recob (Maggie), Maysville, North Carolina.

Gale A. Higdon (Perry), Wathena, Kansas.

Jon M. Recob (Kim), St. Joseph, Missouri.

David L. Recob (Brenda), Topeka, Kansas.

14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and nephews.

Graveside service: 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 13, 2023.

At Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas.
