Agnes Marie Lohman, of Atchison, KS, who lived a long full life of 98 years, passed peacefully on November 7, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. A parish rosary will be Sunday, Nov. 12th at 4:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 5:30 at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to St. Benedict Parish for masses or St. Croix Hospice in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Agnes was born November 1, 1925, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Greub) Scholz. She graduated from Doniphan High School. She met the love of her life, August Lohman, at a dance in Atchison, KS, and they were united in marriage on February 13, 1945, at St. Benedict Church. They shared over sixty-nine years together until his passing on October 13, 2014.

She was a faithful member of St. Patrick- Church, where she attended mass and participated in the church Altar Society. Her faith was very important to her; she was the family Prayer Warrior and prayed daily for her family.

Agnes was very proud of her family and enjoyed being a farm wife. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening and canning and was known for many of her meals, but especially home fried chicken for Sunday dinner with the family. Her grandchildren became her world; she loved playing with them and she always had sugar cookies and brownies prepared to share with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and her siblings, Maynard (Priscilla) Scholz, Leonard Scholz, Henry (Dorothy) Scholz, Rosaleen (George) Ramsey and Ethelreda (Leonard) Penning.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories are her children, Marlene (Dennis) Wagner, Larry (Trudy) Lohman, Gary (Patti) Lohman, Dan (Teresa) Lohman; thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Wanda Scholz.
