Mary Louise Bruns, 93, of Atchison, KS died on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at the Anew Healthcare in Easton, KS.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Chaplain David Burnworth officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Croix Hospice and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is entrusted with her arrangements. Mary was born on Nov. 16, 1930, in Winthrop, MO, the daughter of Otis and Helen (Davis) Allen. She attended Rushville High School was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of the St. Mark- Lutheran Church and enjoyed embroidery and cooking.

Mary was married to Gilbert Bruns on June 6th, 1952. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1999. Survivors include a son David Bruns, Atchison, KS, a daughter Sarah (Paul) Gibbs, Hiawatha, KS, a brother Bill Allen, St. Jospeh, MO, one grandson Phil (Lauren) Gibbs, Easton, KS and three great grandchildren, Hayden, Spencer, and Rory. Her parents, husband, a son Steven Bruns, two brothers John and Tommy Allen, and a sister Margaret Wells preceded her in death.
