James “Jim” Lee Winder, 83, of Troy, Kansas passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Jim was born on September 5, 1940, in Doniphan, Kansas to John David and Leora Louise (Holcomb) Winder.

He was a member of the Army National Guard. Jim was a farmer, worked for Pearl Brewery, Armor and Swifts, roofing and was a very skilled carpenter.

Jim married Chloe Young on October 23, 1965, at the Baptist Church, Troy, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leora Winder Trant, brother, Bob Winder, sister-in-law, Barbara Winder, sister-in-law, Betty Harness and brother-in-law, Carl Young.

Additional survivors: sons, Kelly (Scarlett) Winder, Troy, Kansas.

Kurt (Brie) Winder, Eudora, Kansas.

8 Grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Brothers, Gary (Carol), Lester (Mary), Keith, Kenneth (Virginia) and Don Winder all of Troy, Kansas.

Sister, Diane (Jim) Faunce, Troy, Kansas.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 14, 2023.
At the Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas.
Visitation: 6-8 Wednesday evening at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy, Kansas. Friends may call after 9 A.M. Wednesday.
