Brenda Rodvelt
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton
Rural Horton, KS

Brenda Kathryn Rodvelt, 63, walked into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from complications after a ten year battle with histoplasmosis.

She was born September 24, 1960, the youngest of four to Dale and Bettye Bosse in Sabetha, KS. Brenda grew up in Hamlin, KS attending Hamlin Elementary and then graduating from Hiawatha High School.

She met the love of her life, Douglas Rodvelt, at the Morrill Days Dance. They married on January 19, 1980 during an ice storm at Zion Lutheran Church, Everest, KS.

Brenda was a 43 year member of Zion Lutheran Church. She served joyfully in many roles but cherished her time teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, assisting with numerous bridal shower skits and singing in the church choir.

Throughout the years, Brenda's primary job was raising their four children. She was Doug- partner in the farming operations running trucks, delivering Golden Harvest Seed and filling Vermeer Baler parts orders. She also worked at Taco Bell, The Lemon Tree and babysitting area kids.

Her greatest joy was when she got the title grandma. Even after illness took away her ability to do cartwheels, go on hikes and run with the grandchildren, she took pleasure in creating silly games, crafts and making memories with all thirteen of them.

Her loving and caring heart will be missed by many.

Brenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Douglas; two daughters, Erin (Brandon) Aldridge, Topeka, KS and Ashley Foraker, Emporia, KS; two sons, Derrick (Stacey) Rodvelt, Horton, KS, Jonathan (Megen) Rodvelt, Troy, KS, and bonus son Matt (Brie) Parks; Grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Reid Aldridge, Brayden and Callia Foraker, Declan, Evvie and Daxton Rodvelt, Ethan, Phillip, Melia and Nicklin Rodvelt, Audra and Ryann Parks; Three brothers, Leonard (Brenda) Bosse, Westcliffe, CO, Daniel (Cindy) Bosse, Spring Hill, KS, Doyle (Melissa) Bosse, Marianna, FL. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
