Angelica " Angel" Makie

Angelica Lynn (Angel) Makie of Topeka, passed on December 20th, 2023, from complications of diabetes in a Topeka hospital which she fought her entire life.

Angel was born February 10, 1993 in Largo, Florida. The family then moved to Topeka in 1994 to be close to family. Her family then spent a short period in Seneca, moving to Sabetha where she attended Sabetha schools. Angel attended 2 days at Washburn University before having her dorm room broken into and that was enough “Big City” for her.

She bartended at the Seneca American Legion and the VFW in Sabetha, before moving back to Topeka where she worked various jobs until her passing.
Angel was preceded in death by her little sister Courtney on Thanksgiving Day in 2013.

She leaves behind her mother Jeffra Lee (step-father Donald), father Scott Makie, her grandparents Jack Barnes of Morrill, KS and Jenifer Moser of Georgia, her little brother Andrew, older sister in Georgia Josette Barnes, niece Violet; dozens of cousins, aunts, uncles and ex-husband Kahlin Koch. A good friend to the family is Danny Grier.

Cremation is planned with memorial services to be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the VFW, 120 South Washington, Sabetha, KS 66534. Shane Spangler will officiate. To continue to celebrate Angel- life, family and friends will gather for food and refreshments, following the service.
