Perry , KS

Michael James Jamison, 54, of Perry, KS, passed away peacefully in his home on March 4, 2024, in Perry, Kansas.

Michael was born on July 6, 1969, at Lawrence, Kansas to Michael and Virginia Jamison and was a 1987 graduate of Perry Lecompton High School, where he holds the high hurdle record, an accomplishment he was proud to share with his family.

Anyone who knew Michael know that he was a loving son, husband, father, friend, and brother always eager to help his family out wherever needed. Michael- work ethic and true cowboy nature was evident since his early childhood days helping out on the farm.

In 1990, Michael met Judy, his wife of over 30 years, at the Billtown Café and they were married on September 18, 1993.

Michael and Judy went on to have their three children, Lauren, Landon, and Lexia.
Michael- love for his wife and children was evident to all who knew him. Michael-
children recall his incredible craftsmanship with anything from furniture to 4-H projects, his work ethic, his love for dancing, and adoration for his grandson, Wyatt Durham. Michael- most treasured days were those spent on the farm surrounded by his family and typically ended with a family dinner at the North Star Steakhouse in Topeka.

He will be deeply missed by his family members and close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael “Mick” Jamison. He is survived by his mother, Virginia
(Borne) Jamison, his wife, Judy Jamison, three children, Lauren (Tanner) Durham, Michael Landon (Payton) Jamison, Lexia Jamison, and his beloved grandson, Wyatt Durham. He is also survived by his sisters, Gina (Mike Zyskowski) Jamison, LeaAnn (Jeff) Holzmeister, and Alison (Glen) Jacobson, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brownstone in Topeka on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Cremation Care is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested the Michael J. Jamison College or Tech School Scholarship fund and sent in care of Denison State Bank, Meriden, KS, 66512. Barnett Family Funeral Home of Oskaloosa is assisting the family.
