Alma “June” Boyce, 89, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at F.W. Huston Medical Center in Winchester, KS. She was born June 30, 1934, in Dunavant, KS, the daughter of Clarence W. and Trilby Blanche (Manchester) Gaut.

June graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1952. After high school she attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. June worked for Santa Fe Railroad for over 33 years, before retiring in 1987. She worked in Topeka and Atchison offices. After retirement, she continued to work as a clerk for the Kansas Department of Revenue.

She was a past member of the Eastridge Baptist Church in Topeka, KS where she was very involved with the activities of the church. June was a current member of Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls, KS. She was dedicated to her faith and served teaching Sunday School Classes for many years.

June married Warren D. Boyce on June 19, 1982, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2014; after nearly 32 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lola Bell Church and 3 brothers, Franklin Dale Gaut, Robert W. Gaut, and her twin Alvin Gene Gaut.

Survivors include nephews and nieces; Richard Meyers of Bonnor Springs, KS, Dalene Thoms of Olathe, KS, Linda Klaes (John) of Cimarron, NM, Lorie Thomasson of Osawatomie, KS, and Frank Boyce of Valley Falls, KS. As well as many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
