Shirley Ann Armstrong, 86, Atchison, KS died on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the St. Luke- Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Rachel Dannar officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is entrusted with her arrangements. Shirley was born on Oct. 11, 1937 in Atchison, KS the daughter of Egbert and Edna (Eberly) Macomber. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1955. Shirley had worked in the office at Atchison Leather Products, and later at the deli in both Walmart and Country Mart. She was most importantly a farm wife who helped take care of the animals. Shirley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Atchison Hospital Auxiliary, the Circle # 5 the women- group at the church, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching crime shows on television, and going to the women- breakfast club.

She was married to Paul W. Armstrong on Nov. 17, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Armstrong preceded her in death on July 28th, 2001. Survivors include a son Dan (Julyan) Armstrong, Atchison and a daughter Kathy (Mark) Stephenson, Atchison, KS, a brother Robert “Bob” Macomber, Gardner, KS, four grandchildren A.J. Armstrong, Chelsea Stephenson, Kasee Armstrong, and Cody Armstrong, and four great grandchildren Mira Armstrong, Penny Armstrong, Ryder Armstrong, and Karson Armstrong. Her parents, husband Paul, and a brother Jim Macomber preceded her in death.
