Raymond F. Erpelding, 87, of Atchison, KS, passed away Tuesday, June 04, 2024, at Vintage Park, Atchison, KS.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Louis Good Intent Catholic Church with Fr. Hughes Sundeme as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Louis Catholic Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Raymond was born July 20, 1937, in Atchison, KS, the son of Leo and Elizabeth (Enzbrenner) Erpelding. He graduated from Huron High School. In 1956 he bought the family farm that had been in the family since 1868. Raymond served in the Army National Guard for ten years attending Staff Seargent 1st Class. He worked at LFM-Rockwell and Atchison Casting attaining the job as Industrial Electrician for thirty-nine years after he got his Master Contractor Electrical License and starting the Erpelding and Son Electrical Company with several employees for twenty-five years. Raymond trained roping horses and enjoyed riding and fishing. He and Jim Kahl did team roping in Nebraska, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. He was a member of the St. Louis Good Intent Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council.

Raymond married Helen Frances Majewski on October 2, 1956, at St. Louis Good Intent Catholic Church. She preceded him on August 21, 2013. Survivors include three sons, Mark and Paula Erpelding, Freeburg, IL, Luke and Sarah Erpelding, Atchison, KS, Peter and Christy Erpelding, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Karen and Gary Reidmiller, Mulvane, KS, Donna and Mark Suddith, Augusta, KS, a sister Rose Schultz, Rogers, AK, nineteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.

He was also preceded by his parents, a son Dennis Erpelding, one grandchild, two great grandchildren, a brother in law Gene Schultz.
