Carol Ann (Stallbaumer) Keegan, 77, of Seneca, died on June 5, 2024 at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital surrounded by family.

Carol was born to Cyril John and Frances Mary (Wessel) Stallbaumer on June 7, 1946 in Seneca, Kansas. She was the fifth of seven children. Carol graduated from St. Benedict High School in 1964.

On November 12, 1966, Carol married William “Bill” Dale Keegan at St. Mary- Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Kansas. Together they lived north of Baileyville, Kansas, near the state line. Their union was blessed with two sons; James “Jim” Francis and Patrick “Pat” George. Carol then moved to Seneca in 2019.

Carol worked at the Nemaha County Courthouse after high school, S.E.N.C.A. in Pawnee City, Nebraska, as a cook for many years, and then Heavenly Treasures until 2018. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, reading, fishing, walking, baking, playing card games, and solving crosswords. Carol was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Alter Society.

She is survived by her two sons, Jim (Barb) of Hemingford, Nebraska, and Pat (Dolores) of Sabetha, Kansas; her four grandchildren Donovan Keegan of Baileyville, Kansas, Kiera (Jordan) Pulliam of Cherokee, Kansas, Shea Keegan of Seneca, Kansas, and Taylor Keegan of Alliance, Nebraska; and one great-grandson, Fergus Pulliam. Step-grandchildren; Edward (Britini) Roggenkamp of Holton, Kansas, Alison (Ben) Spain of Topeka, Kansas, & Andrea Roggenkamp of Topeka, Kansas. Siblings; Janice Haverkamp, Marceil Dressman, Charles (Sandra) Stallbaumer, Dennis (Kathy) Stallbaumer, Sue (Gerald) Spielman; all of Seneca, Kansas, & Sr. Rose Marie Stallbaumer O.S.B. of Atchison, Kansas.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband; Bill (2010); daughter-in-law; Alicia Keegan, three brothers-in-law; Robert Haverkamp Sr., Clarence Dressman, Richard (Dick) Spielman; & niece; Nancy Steinlage.

Rosary will be held at Lauer Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial will be designated at a later date sent in care of the family.
