Kathryn A. Wahwasuck, 70, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was born December 18, 1953 in Maryville, TN, the daughter of Richard William and Anita Faye (Harris) Mead.

Kathryn graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1971 in Denver, CO and from Friends University in Wichita in 2000.

She was an Applications Development Supervisor for the State of Kansas for 20 years, retiring in 2016.

Kathryn was a member of the Topeka Bible Church.

She married Douglas C. Wahwasuck on September 4, 1978 in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2006; after 27 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Anita F. Mead.

Survivors include her father, Richard Mead of Weslaco, TX; 3 sons, Robert Specht of Mayetta, KS, Stephen Specht (Lori) of Aurora, CO and Michael Wahwasuck (Tammy) of Lakewood, CO; 2 sisters, Theresa Meyer (Jerry) of St. Petersburg, ND and Mary Mead-Cortez (Angel) of Granite Falls, WA; 4 brothers, John Mead (Jane) of Traverse City, MI, Richard Mead of Grand Junction, CO, Gary Mead of Bailey, CO and Stephen Mead of Traverse City, MI and 4 grandchildren, Steven Douglas Wahwasuck, Christopher Douglas Wahwasuck, Michael Douglas Wahwasuck and Caitlyn Elizabeth Specht.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at Wahwaksum Cemetery.
