Patricia (Pat) Louise Larson

Patricia (Pat) Louise Larson, 80, of Cole Turkey Acres, at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo, passed away unexpectedly May 25, 2024. She was raised on a dairy farm and attended a one room school. She graduated in 1960 from ACCHS in Effingham, KS. After graduating she was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She went to beautician school and later had her own beauty shop in Nortonville, KS.

A Celebration of Life service is being planned in Atchison, Sunday, June 23rd, at the Becker-Dyer Funeral Home from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Patricia was born June 3, 1943, the daughter of Aloysius and Mary (Raffety) Erpelding. In the seventies, a medical condition with her hands forced a career change, and she became the general manager of The Grain Bin Super Club in Garden City Ks for several years. Her nephew was born in 84, and she decided to be closer to family in eastern Kansas. She went to work for Koss Construction building the “new” Highway 73, where she met Ed. They were married and traveled with Koss. Later they moved to Tipton, MO and Patty worked for Orvis Gokey. After retiring they moved to the lake.

She loved watching the Chiefs and the Royals and feeding the birds. She was a 22-year member of Osage Valley ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by sister Coleen (Bill) Murphy, stepdaughter Kathy Larson, step son-in-law Brian Hunsburger, 2 step granddaughters, Abigail Hunsburger (Hunter) and Megan (Dusty) Young, and one step grandson, Sawyer Young, one nephew, 4 nieces, 1 great niece, 5 great nephews, 1 great-great niece and 1 great-great nephew. Also surviving are her many classmates of the Class of 1960. She was preceded in death by her parents Aloysius and Mary Erpelding, sister Barbara (Dale) Nichols and Husband Ed Larson. Memorial contributions can be made to the Osage Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
