Mary” Kaye” Gill, 85, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on June 29, 2024 at Wexford Place in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born December 27, 1938 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Morton and Irene (Davidson) Gill of Muscotah, Kansas

Kaye married Earnest Reed in 1960 and they later were divorced.

She graduated in 1956 from Atchison County Community High School in Effingham, Kansas and from the Ottawa University.

Kaye lived most of her adult life in the Kansas City area working as a Legal Secretary and later as a Paralegal for a variety of law firms.

She enjoyed gardening and home decorating. She had an adventurous spirit, a love of learning and a curious nature, which she also inspired in and passed on to her children and grandchildren. "Kaye was a life long Chiefs fan! Go Chiefs!!!"

She was preceded in death by her parents. Kaye is survived by a daughter, Lauri Buckman (Michael) of Liberty, Missouri; two sons, Michael Reed of Russellville, Arkansas and Jeffrey Reed (Pamela) of Lynchburg, Virginia; 2 grandchildren, and five sisters, Darlene Miller, Faye Joy, Karen Ingalls, Sue Maxwell, and Charlea Davis.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Muscotah Cemetery.
