Lane Alan Pruett, 15, of Holton, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in Holton. He was born May 18, 2009 in Topeka, KS, the loving son of Benjamin Alan and Shelby Lee (Duncan) Pruett.

Lane was an active Sophomore at Holton High School. Participating in football, wrestling, notables, FFA and PVR 4-H. He was a proud member of the Burger Gang. In the summers, Lane was a lifeguard at the Holton Swimming Pool and an active member of St. Dominics Catholic Church.

Lane could always be found with a smile on his face. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by both.

Survivors include his parents, Ben and Shelby Pruett of the home; He was the world's best brother to his 2 sisters, Emeliya and Gemma Pruett of the home; paternal grandparents, Mark and Vickie (Lierz) Pruett of Holton, KS; maternal grandparents, Dora and Noel Clark and David Duncan both of Holton, KS; great-maternal grandmother, Monie Wheeler of Holton, KS and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Holton High School. Burial will follow at Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. At the visitation/funeral the family requests that you "Live Like Lane" and wear shorts with cowboy boots if possible.
