Born on August 6, 1956, in Riverton, Illinois, Kathy found joy and beauty in life's simple pleasures—watching the sun set over the Kansas fields and sharing quiet mornings on the porch with her husband, Denny. She & Denny met at 17, were married at 19, and lived a cherished love story. Her unconditional love for her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into raising her children and, later, delighting & shining in her role as Grandma (resulting in the absolute adoration & fandom of 4 little grandkids).

Kathy was incredibly funny (sometimes when you least expected), light-hearted, so thoughtful, and determined with unwavering faith. Many called her the "strongest woman they know". She made the difficult look easy, and every day feels special. She was a wonderful friend, the "fun aunt", and she chose to see the good in everyone.

Kathy built a respected career in banking, where her integrity, dedication, and kindness left a lasting impression on her colleagues and clients. She retired as Vice President at GNB Mortgage in Horton, Kansas, after many years of committed service to the community she cherished. She loved antiquing, flea markets, restoring furniture, home projects with the kids, and adopting just about every animal that crossed her path.

She shared nearly 49 wonderful years of marriage with Denny, and together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring love.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis "Denny" Anderson; her children, Erik Dylan (Jackie) Anderson and Katie (Matthew) Anderson Dykstra; and her grandchildren, Townes, Hawke, Keaton "Keats", and Rivers. She will also be lovingly remembered by her mother, Trudy Morton; her sisters, Sandra "Sandy" (Tom) Flattery and Patricia "Patty" (Jim) Nieuwendall; her brother, Robert Morton II; her brother-in-law, Carl ("Dick") Anderson; Laurie Anderson; treasured nieces and nephews, and her mother-in-law, Bonnie Anderson. Bonnie, who considers Kathy the daughter she never had, shared a deep and abiding bond with her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Robert Morton, her father-in-law, Carl Anderson, her brother-in-law, Douglas Anderson, and her sister-in-law, Vicki Anderson.

Kathy's legacy of love, grace, and quiet unmovable strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
