Roger Bill Bowman, 83, of Pawnee City, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska.
He was born too Kenneth and Joyce (Hubka) Bowman on December 3, 1941 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Roger attended school to the 11th grade at Burchard, Nebraska and than attended Pawnee City High School where in 1959 he graduated. While in high school he lettered in Football, Basketball and track. He attended Peru State College for 2 1/2 years while there he played football for Peru.
Roger joined the Air Force in 1962 and was in for 12 years, then Army Reserves for 1 year and Navy Reserves for 7 years. He was very proud of his service in the Air Force.
He married Ivadene Cox in Basil, Switzerland on December 16, 1969. To this union was son was born Mark.
After retiring from the Air Force, Roger worked for Compugraphics as a phototype technician. Roger and Ivadene relocated with his job from Council Bluffs, IA, to several other places including, North Bend, Washington; Stone Mountain, Georgia; Sandown, New Hampshire; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Fremont, Nebraska. While in Fremont Roger retired and they then moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska in 2018.
Roger was a Christian and he was a member of the American Legion Post #168 in Pawnee City and he was commander with in the American Legion. Roger also liked to play Golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth A. Bowman and Joyce C. Bowman-Walsh; brother, Duane E. Bowman; brother-in-law, Ronnie Shores.
He is survived by his wife Ivadene Bowman; son, Mark B. Bowman (Michelle), brothers, Kenneth L. Bowman (Janice), David A. Bowman (Susan); sister, Connie R. Shores, and sister-in-law, Linda Bowman, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Pawnee City Cemetery with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Wherry Mortuary in Pawnee City, Nebraska.
Memorials may go to the family's choice.
Inurnment will be in the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
