Helen Patricia (Lutz) Birkinsha, 78 of Atchison, KS, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Vintage Park Assisted Living, Atchison, KS.

The Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. William Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Helen was born July 5, 1947, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Alfred and Patricia (Regan) Lutz. She graduated from Mt. Saint Scholastica Academy. Helen work in Civil Service as a Clerk for the County of Atchison. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she held several positions, Deaconess, Elder, held grief classes and a Boy Scout Leader including Kanza District for over fifteen years. Helen enjoyed reading and puzzles.

Helen married Gerald Dean Birkinsha on November 19, 1966, he preceded her on October 27, 2012. Survivors include two sons, Gerald D. Birkinsha, Atchison, KS, Nelson and Karen Birkinsha, Atchison, KS, five brothers, John Lutz, Ed (Ok Sum) Lutz, Don (Jane) Lutz, Paul (Yan) Lutz and Chris (Barb) Lutz, three sisters, Kay (Bill) Hull, Judy Coody, Betty Cundiff, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren with one on the way.

She was also preceded by her parents, two sons, Brian and Anthony Birkinsha, and a brother Bill Lutz.
