Bonnie Sue Schneider, of Winchester, died Friday, September 26 at the age of 76.

Bonnie was born September 7, 1949, in McLouth, Kansas, daughter of Leonard Newman and Ella Worden. She graduated from Winchester High School in 1967 and then attended the Stewart Beauty Academy in Topeka where she received her certificate in cosmetology in 1968. She married Clifford Schneider, July 6, 1976; they were married for 27 years. Bonnie worked as a beautician for several years before becoming a press operator at Hallmark in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1974; she retired in 2006 after 32 years of service.

Bonnie will be remembered for her old-fashioned phrases, her love for cooking & baking, her sewing talents & alteration skills, her iron fist with her children, but her gentle soft spot for her grandchildren. She would drop anything she was doing to be able to help her children, her grandchildren, and her community.

Bonnie is survived by her three sons: Jeff (Jennie) Schneider, Steve Schneider, & Brett (Angela) Schneider, five grandchildren: Kylie Mathews, Braden Schneider, Kaitlyn Schneider, Kinsey Schneider and Brooklyn Schneider, Siblings: Leonard Newman II, Kristie Scrivner, Kathy Phillips, Amy Schneider and Sandy Morris.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents: Leonard and Mary Newman, her brothers: Steven Newman and Bob Keaton

Visitation will be 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, October 4th with funeral service beginning at 3:30pm at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Cremation Care is planned with Private Family Inurnment at a later date at Valley Falls Cemetery.
