Frank D. Green Jr., 75, Valley Falls, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at his home.

Frank was born on Jan. 26, 1937, at Topeka. He was raised by Frank D. and Deila Green and attended schools in Topeka. Frank worked at several dairies in Topeka, including as a driver for Meadow Gold Dairy. He later was a mechanic in Valley Falls, before working in the Civil Service and Army Reserve. He retired in 1998 as a E-8 Master Sergeant after 28 years of service. He married Beverly Miller. They later divorced. He married Beulah L. Martinson. Frank and Beulah were care givers to many people in the Valley Falls community.

Frank loved animals, especially a special dog. Mattie Mae. He enjoyed birds, squirrels and rabbits, making sure they were fed during any season. He used to hunt and go fishing. He was proud to be an American.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah, of the home; a son, Frank D. Green III, Stockton, CA; a daughter, Debbie Gaba, Big Bear City, CA; a stepson, John (Joyce) Roberson, Valley Falls; several grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Cann, Pomona, and Jim Cann, Topeka; three sisters, Gladys O’Handlen, Topeka, Johnna Mae Young, Tacoma, WA, and Kathy Gragg, Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by fraternal twin children and a brother, Billy Cann.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery & Mausoleum in Topeka at 1:30 p.m. with military honors conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084 V.F.W.
