Scott Schwarting, 51, of Shiprock, NM, passed away December 10, 2013 at Shiprock. He was born August 9, 1962 at West Point, NE to Larry and Marlene Schwarting.

Scott attended school in Boyden-Hull, IA, Fremont, NE and Falls City, NE and graduated from Falls City High School in 1980. He graduated in 1985 from Peru State College with a Bachelors Degree in Education, Business Administration, Physical Education and Coaching. He lettered in baseball the four years he attended there. In the summers while attending college he coached the Falls City Elks and Legion baseball teams.

He began teaching and coaching at Venango, NE High School from 1985 until 1992 when he began teaching and coaching football, track and wrestling at Central Consolidated Schools in Shiprock, NM and was also the Athletic Director. His passion was working with young people.

Scott married Rozanne Brown in 1986 and were later divorced. In 1995 he married Lorry Lee and they were later divorced.

Scott is survived by his daughters, Natasha Ann Schwarting of Hastings, NE, Natasha Rae Lee-Schwarting and Desiree Schwarting both of Shiprock, granddaughters, Cynayrah and Cyennah Bileen both of Shiprock, Jordan Hampton of Hastings, NE sisters, Ruth Jensen and her husband Roger of South Sioux City, NE, Kathy Gasper and her husband Jim of Omaha, NE, Cheryl Guess and her husband David of Nebraska City, NE, brothers. L. David and his wife Beth of Carmel, IN, Jeff and his wife Sandy of Falls City, NE, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Roxie Sullivan officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
