Aurelius F. “Rea” Kiefer, 91, formerly of Wathena, Kansas passed away December 30, 2013 at Vintage Gardens Assisted Living.
Aurelius was born on June 3, 1922 in Pomona, Kansas to Leo P. & Anna B. (Boeh) Kiefer.
He was a farmer & a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church & the Knights of Columbus of Wathena, Kansas.
Aurelius married Evelyn Culver on April 28, 1945 in Wathena. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Kiefer & a sister, Judy Gummig.
Survivors: son, Michael Kiefer (Gayla) of Wathena, Kansas; daughters, Lois Liechti (Tom) of St. Joseph, Missouri; Thresa Martin (Mike) of Lenexa, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Kiefer of St.Joseph, Missouri; numerous nieces & nephews.
Mass: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wathena, Kansas. Rosary 6 P.M. Wednesday evening January 1, 2014 with visitation to follow until 8 P.M. at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas, where friends may call after 9 A.M. Wednesday.
