Ruth was born August 11, 1924 to Frank and Irene Lyle.  She was the third child born to this union. She attended country school and one year of high school in Effingham.  At the age of sixteen, she married Theodore (Teddy) Potts and they began their hard working life of farming and dairying.  Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Jim, Dave, Dan, that were the trophies of her life.  Teddy died in 1967 and Ruth continued her education, earning her GED.  She later served as Postmaster of Huron and then Lancaster.  She enjoyed reading and doing research.  Ruth later published a book on the history of the Lancaster Cemetery.
She is survived by her son Jim and Crystal of Effingham, KS, a daughter-in-law Brenda Potts of Newpoint, MO, six grandsons, one granddaughter, thirteen great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Elsie Watters, brother, William Lyle, sons David Potts and Daniel Potts and a great grandson Bryan Cummings.
Ruth will long be remembered by her family and friends and we will miss her words of wisdom, and her homemade rolls and peach pie.

May she rest in peace.
