Velma F. Hargrove
Rushville, MO

Velma F. Hargrove, 87 of Rushville, MO passed away Monday February 20, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

 Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Tim Champ and Bill Cassity officiating.  Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday February 22, 2012 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Rushville Christian Church and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of her late son, may be left in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at beckerdyer.com

Velma was born March 26, 1924 in DeKalb, MO the daughter of Amos Henry and Nellie (Pitts) Brumley.  She was a loving homemaker and housewife, member of Rushville Christian Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher.  Velma volunteered for American Cancer Society and VFW Auxiliary, she enjoyed gardening flowers, bird watching, and their cattle.  She was also very good with a tractor.  Velma liked watching college sports, and going to her grandkids sporting events. She especially loved her kids and grandchildren

 Velma married Max Hargrove on August 31, 1968 at Community Christian Church St. Joseph MO, he survives of the home.  Addition survivors are four daughters; Sheila (Mike) Larson, Highlands Ranch, CO, Sara (Don) Hinz, Effingham, KS, Rene (Bill) Cassity, Rushville, MO, Jeanne (Kevin) Henning, Parkville, MO, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Gerald Long and Ralph “Bud” Price, a son Rossie Price, two brothers; Clarence Brumley and Frank Brumley, two sisters; Kathleen “Katie” Morris, Lorene Thomas and a grandchild; Bethanney Hinz.
