Harold Stoner

Harold Eugene Stoner born 14th day of January 1909,  at Woodlawn, Harmony Community, south of Sabetha, Kansas to Nanie Belle Foley Stoner and Walter Ervin Stoner and  received schooling at Woodlawn and Sabetha communities.  Harold died May 13, 2014 at Tri County Manor in Horton.
He was a member of the Mount Horeb Chapter No 43, RAM, Commandery #13 K.T. of Masonry,  Abdallah Shrine Temple of Kansas City, and Organizational Member N.E. 90s Motorcycle Club of Northeast Kansas till 1971, and then continued as an honorary member.
Harold was a member for over fifty years to each of the following; Blue Lodge of Masonary #35, 32nd Degree Mason Lodge #35, Past Patron, Zenith Chapter 184 Order of Eastern Star of Robinson, transferring to Hiawatha, Independent Order of Odd Fellows #83.
In 1943 he operated the Skelly Oil Company at 5th and Oregon and later drove a tank wagon for Warner Oil Company. Harold farmed for 30 years in the Robinson and south Hiawatha communities. He was on the Hiawatha Township Board as a Trustee from 1959-1977. Harold remapped Brown County in 1975.
On the 26th day of December in 1981 he married Elaine Long Rundus at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas.  Harold was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Hallie at age 14 in 1921, Lila Moll McNaney age 76 in June 1989 and Leta Stoner Kaul age 92 March 1997. A brother, Oren Stoner age 92 in March 2003.
Harold is survived by his wife Elaine, stepson Steven Glenn Rundus , daughter-in-law Jo Ann Uber Rundus, grandchildren Holly Marie Renfro and David Renfro of Olathe, Kansas, Daniel Glenn Rundus and Sarah Rundus of Gardner, Kansas;  5 great grandchildren:  Jolianna, Isaac, Isabelle and Maddox Renfro and Noah Rundus. Harold was expecting his 6th great grandson which is due June 23, 2014. Also surviving are a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
His great love was his friends, travel and his family, especially his two grandchildren and the 5 great grandchildren.
Harold’s funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, with Father Dan Gardner officiating at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha.  Masonic committal services will be a courtesy of Masonic Lodge #35, AF&AM, of Hiawatha.  Interment will follow at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clifton, KS.
