Citizens will be seeing lengthy re-modeling of a popular Atchison fast food restaurant over the next several months.
McDonald’s is currently in their first stage of re-modeling.
According to office manager Cathy Crist, the side lobby is currently closed for construction, as well as the roofline.
She says this section of re-modeling is expected to take several weeks before they move on to the front lobby.
This is the first time cosmetic changes have occurred at the restaurant since adding the front dining area and rear portion in 1998.
The restaurant had the changes approved through city government late last fall.
Crist says the local office does not know the total cost of the project.
The restaurant first opened in Atchison on October 6th, 1983.
