Doniphan West: Drug Free Students
03/27/2012

Rewind five months to October of last year when a group of six 7th and 8th grade students at Doniphan West Middle School, in Denton, commemorated the annual drug abuse awareness “Red Ribbon Week” campaign with a variety of activities, and events.
The student projects were overseen by educator/sponsor Rachel Gibson(Play Audio :15 seconds)
The students, to commemorate the numerous drug and alcohol themed activities they organized, put together a video presentation, which is now posted on-line and in the running as a finalist in a “Red Ribbon” contest(Play Audio :24 seconds)
The video shows the students performing their projects,  taking the viewer to community streets, and inside the Middle School, as student narration explains what's being seen(Play Audio :32 seconds)
Votes are being taken until the end of the month at http://redribbon.org/star/ where the video can be viewed.
Winning the video honor would only be the latest related award for the students who, in February, attended the Red Ribbon luncheon and received the level one plaque for the state of Kansas.
